Food Hampers & Infant Formula
Nutrition-based hampers, built around your family.
It's hard to fathom, but even in Canada a number of people live every day with hunger. A dedicated group of volunteers works to provide nutrition-based food hampers — all of the food is donated, whether by individuals in our community or by generous St. Albert businesses.
What's included
- Hampers assembled according to the number of people in a family
- Fresh produce accepted and stored — we have a walk-in cooler and freezer
- Infant Formula Program: formula, bottles, diapers and a layette
- Referrals to community resources so every concern is addressed

How hampers work
Hampers are assembled according to family size, and contents depend on the amount and type of donations available. Call us at 780-459-0599 to arrange a hamper.
Infant Formula Program
New moms struggling to provide formula can visit us for a full package of formula, bottles, diapers (once per week) and a layette. After the first visit you may return weekly for formula and diapers.
Program history
Brian Layton, a past president of the St. Albert Food Bank, saw that some new moms leaving hospital faced food insecurity. In 2013 the Infant Formula Program officially partnered with the Edmonton Food Bank and began delivering cans of formula along with a full layette, bottles and diapers.
